I've been caring for babies since I was seven — the oldest of eleven grandchildren, the one the aunts called when they needed a mother's helper. I loved it and thought that path would be my whole life.

However, in high school my love of art took over and I built a portfolio, applied to the two best design schools in the country, and got into both. I earned my BFA in Interior Design from The Savannah College of Art and Design, spent over a decade working at various architecture and design firms, and earned my NCIDQ certification in 2015. By 2021, I was leading half a million square feet of build-outs, and the teams behind them, at one of the top interior design firms in the country. I had also learned how to successfully and calmly oversee many moving parts at once.

When my daughter was born and our childcare plans came apart, I stayed home. I then found myself watching a neighbor's baby alongside my own and was happier than any design project had made me in years. I realized that I had outgrown the formal corporate design world and decided to train as a postpartum doula through DONA International. Finally, I understood that I hadn't switched paths; I'd been walking toward this one all along.

Settle In is where all of my paths converge: the doula who innately knows newborns, the photographer who sees and captures the beautiful fleeting moments, the designer who can make the room around you feel calm and made just for you.
